This Privacy Policy explains how Gocools Write (“Write”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Write document editor and related pages. We aim to collect only what is needed to provide the service.
Data we store
We store the documents you create — their content, titles, folders, citations, comments and version history — together with the account identifier they belong to. We also keep basic account profile details (such as your name, email and role) provided by the Gocools Account service so we can attribute and protect your work.
Cookies & local storage
Write uses your browser’s local storage to hold a sign-in authentication token and a small amount of profile information (name, email, role) so you stay signed in between visits. A theme preference is stored the same way. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Your content is yours
You retain full ownership of the documents and other content you create in Write. We process your content only to operate the service on your behalf — for example to save, render, paginate, export and version your documents. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it for advertising.
Sharing & disclosure
We do not share your documents with other users unless you explicitly choose to. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the platform.
Security
Access to your documents requires signing in. Authentication is handled by the Gocools Account service, and tokens are scoped to your browser. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your documents and their version history until you delete them or close your account. Deleting a document removes it and its snapshots from active storage.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
